Modern Marriage Bureau was founded in 2022 by Tariq Hassan and Priya Mehta — two people who had each spent years navigating outdated, cluttered matrimonial websites that felt more like job boards than a path to love.
Tariq, a computer scientist, and Priya, a UX researcher, decided to build something different: a platform where intelligence meets elegance, where cultural nuance is respected, and where every member feels safe and seen.
They raised their first round in 2023, launched in beta to 50,000 users across South Asia, the Middle East, and the UK — and within a year, had facilitated over 100,000 meaningful connections.
